The Kwahu Traditional Council has vehemently refuted the shocking allegations that Nana Adwoa Gyamfuah III, the Paramount Queen Mother, was abducted. But here's the twist: they claim it's all a misunderstanding!
In a statement released on November 17, the Council dismissed the abduction claims as completely unfounded. They clarified that the Queen Mother was not abducted but rather, the Ghana Police Service intervened to ensure peace and prevent potential violence.
The controversy stems from a court order issued by the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs. The order, an interlocutory injunction, favored Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II and restricted Baffour Osei Akoto, the self-proclaimed Kwahuhene, the Queen Mother, and others from interfering with Agyapong II's activities at the Abene Palace.
The Council asserted that the police acted to enforce this court directive, not to abduct anyone. They emphasized that neither the Queen Mother nor those arrested reside at the Abene Palace, dispelling any abduction rumors.
However, the Council alleged that the Queen Mother had hired individuals to seize control of the palace and had made threats to hinder the work of the rightful Kwahuhene, Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II.
Despite the dramatic events, the Council confirmed the well-being of those arrested, stating they are in lawful custody and good health.
