Jonathan Cohen's Pre-Fall 2026 Collection: A Fusion of Creativity and Practicality
The fashion world is abuzz with the unveiling of Jonathan Cohen's Pre-Fall 2026 Collection, a collaboration with Marina and Ricardo Larroudé. This partnership marks a significant shift in Cohen's approach, as he transitions his production to Brazil, expanding his White Label and Black Label lines. The former will feature see-now, buy-now drops, while the Black Label, known for its intricate designs, will be released as pieces become ready.
Larroudé explains this strategic move, "We saw an opportunity to bring more creatives into our power machine, allowing them to focus solely on the creative aspects. The vision, products, and designs are all Jonathan's, but we're powering the backend."
Cohen's collection is designed with a specific customer in mind: the aspirational consumer who has been overlooked. The White Label collection embodies the essence of a contemporary or bridge line, offering accessible designs at affordable prices. With over a decade of experience, Cohen understands his customers' desire for a perfect fit and a touch of fun. He has moved away from concept design, focusing instead on practical solutions for dressing.
The collection showcases a limited range of silhouettes: shirtdresses, pants, tops, a wrap dress, and a skirt. However, when transformed using different materials, these pieces take on new identities. For instance, denim and upcycled black satin from Larroudé's factories, with a commitment to sustainability, create unique looks. Cohen's love for prints is evident, as he hand-painted a black and white stripe, and a playful red ditsy floral pattern.
The color palette is introduced through detailing rather than the main materials. Vari-colored zig-zagged stitching and custom buttons add a playful touch to the easy-to-wear pieces. This collection pays homage to the playful designs of fashion legends like Stephen Burrows and Byron Lars, inviting a new generation of creatives to join the power machine.
